How are your cabinets built?
Every custom cabinet we sell is built by hand in our North Las Vegas facility. Boxes. Our standard residential cabinet box is prefinished birch or maple plywood — not particleboard, and not a melamine-wrapped substrate. Prefinished means the interior surface is finished before the box is assembled, so the finish is even on every panel, there is no overspray into corners, and the interior wears the way the exterior does. For projects that want a more durable, fully wipeable interior, we upgrade to Wilsonart Interiors TFL, which can be color-matched to the door program. Drawers and hardware. We run Blum Movento undermount drawer runners — full-extension, synchronized so the drawer travels square, and soft-close as standard. Hinges are Blum soft-close. Blum carries a lifetime warranty on its hardware, which means the moving parts of your kitchen are guaranteed for as long as you own it. Handleless options. For designs with no visible pull, we build with the Blum TIP-ON push-to-open system. Press the door and it opens; no pull, no finger channel, no compromise in the elevation. Edgebanding. We run a dedicated edgebander in-house, which is how we produce flat-panel doors and exposed panels with a tight, matched edge rather than a visible band. It is also why we can offer European panel materials that most cabinet shops have to outsource.
What cabinet door options are available?
The door is what you see and touch, and it drives both the look and a large share of the cost. We work in three categories. Solid wood. Beech, alder, white oak, rift white oak, African mahogany and walnut, among others. Available in cope-and-stick five-piece construction, mitered frames, applied and rope moulding, louvered, contemporary profiles and veneer slab. Custom outside profiles can be cut to match existing millwork in a home — useful in renovations where new cabinetry has to meet
original trim. Thermofoil. A vinyl membrane vacuum-pressed over a shaped MDF core, available in a wide range of colors and profiles. Thermofoil is seamless, easy to clean and dimensionally stable, which makes it a strong choice for bathrooms, laundry rooms and high-use family kitchens. Flat-panel and TFL, made in-house. This is where our edgebander does the work. We build slab and flat-panel doors from the European decorative panel lines that define contemporary cabinetry: Tafisa, Wilsonart Lujo high-gloss, Wilsonart Traceless ultra-matte anti-fingerprint, Cleaf, Kronospan, Arauco Prism, Alvic and Egger. Because we band the edges ourselves in matched material, a finished door reads as one solid piece rather than a panel with a stripe around it. Aluminum frame doors are also available for glass fronts and modern European elevations.
Should I choose framed or frameless cabinets?
We build both. Frameless — also called full-access or 32mm construction — has no face frame across the front of the box, so doors mount directly to the cabinet sides on concealed hinges. That gives roughly 10 to 15 percent more usable interior space, full-width drawers and the tight, even reveal lines that define modern European kitchens. Framed construction is more forgiving of out-of square walls and older homes, and it is the right choice for inset doors and traditional detailing. Frameless demands tighter tolerances in both fabrication and installation, which is part of why not every shop offers it.
Which cabinet materials hold up best in Las Vegas?
Las Vegas humidity often sits between 10 and 20 percent, and that dryness moves solid wood. Wide solid panels can shrink, check and open at the joints in ways they would not in a humid climate. This is why our standard box is plywood rather than solid lumber, and why engineered door programs — TFL, thermofoil and veneer — hold their geometry here better than wide solid-wood panels do. It does not mean avoiding wood; it means using it where it performs. A rift white oak five-piece door is stable because the stiles and rails are narrow and the panel floats. Direct desert sun through large windows also fades some finishes over time, so material and finish selection should account for which elevations a room faces.
What do custom cabinets cost in Las Vegas?
Custom cabinetry in Las Vegas typically runs $1,000 to $2,000 per linear foot installed. Ours runs $850 to $1,700, and semi-custom lines run $450 to $850. Most full custom kitchens fall between $28,000 and $65,000. We price below the market for comparable work for a structural reason, not a quality one. We manufacture in our own Las Vegas shop and fabricate the solid surface in the same building. Most companies selling custom cabinetry here are dealers reselling another manufacturer's product with a margin added. Active-duty military, veterans, police, firefighters and EMS receive 10% off.
How long does custom cabinetry take?
1. Consultation — visit our showroom at 4775 W Teco Ave, or send us your plans.
2. Measure and design — we field-measure the space and produce drawings for your approval.
3. Approval and deposit — deposits are protected by our Nevada Consumer Protection Bond.
4. Manufacturing — 5 to 9 weeks for custom, 4 to 6 for semi-custom, from approved drawings.
Design and drawing approval adds 2 to 3 weeks before fabrication starts.
5. Installation — installed by our own crew, not subcontracted.
6. Walkthrough — we punch the job with you before calling it finished.
What is Fabuwood premium semi-custom cabinetry?
We are an authorized Fabuwood dealer, and we install their lines to the same standard as our own work. Fabuwood is premium semi-custom, not builder-grade. Allure and Ovela boxes are plywood with wood veneer interiors, drawer boxes are solid wood dovetail, and Blum soft-close hinges and runners are standard across every collection — the same hardware brand we specify in our custom cabinetry. Doors and boxes are finished in a factory-applied catalyzed finish, which is more durable than any coating that can be applied inside a home. Allure is framed construction across six collections in shaker, slab and transitional styles. Illume and Ovela are frameless — Illume in high-gloss and matte textured slab, Ovela in fifteen Catalina finishes including wood textures like Ferrara Oak and Hickory Rock. Where semi-custom wins is schedule and consistency. Cabinets ship in 4 to 6 weeks instead of 5 to 9, and every unit comes out of a controlled factory process. Where it stops is dimension — sizes come in fixed increments, so a wall that needs a 34-1/8 inch cabinet gets a filler panel instead.
